Local Pilot wins award! At a gathering of his peers in Louisville on Feb 25th, local pilot Randall “Randy” Morris of Elizabethtown was totally surprised when he was presented the coveted Federal Aviation Administration’s Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award. This award recognizes pilots who have contributed to building and maintaining the safest aviation system in the world, through practicing and promoting safe flight for 50 consecutive years or more. The award is named in honor of Wilbur and Orville Wright, two early pioneers of flight. This prestigious award was authorized in 2003; to date there have been approximately 1,500 recipients.
The Russellville-Logan County Airport Board is seeking proposals to provide contract services to fulfill the duties of Airport Manager. The Airport Manager will be contracted under a 1099 arrangement and will not be an employee of the Russellville-Logan County Airport Board, Logan County, Kentucky, or the City of Russellville, Kentucky. The Russellville-Logan County Airport Board is seeking proposals from qualified individuals, or firms, to provide Fixed Base Operator services at the Russellville-Logan County Airport. The Board will review the proposals of interested firms and choose the FBO based on what the Board concludes to be the offer providing the most value to the airport. The deadline date for filing a written proposal for consideration is March 31, 2010.
